Baptism is an important step that shows everyone we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized and we do this to follow his example. When a person is baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection.
"At the time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan." -Mark 1:9
"Then Jesus came to them and said "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely i am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:19-20
"....and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized." -Acts 18:8
"We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands." -1 John 2:3
Sunday mornings at the 10:30am towards the end of service. Multiple times throughout the calendar year we will schedule baptisms.
1.) Register or let the pastoral staff know
2.) Invite loved one to see you get baptised
3.) Attend service and bring a extra change of clothes and towel
We encourage parents to wait until children understand the essence of salvation before being baptized.
Being baptism should have signified you becoming a follower of Jesus, beginning a changed life, and uniting with a new family. If you got baptised and it did not reflect this change of life, then you should be baptized again. We would be happy to do that for you if you are ready!
Yes! If each family member understands the full meaning of baptism and each one has personally placed his/her trust in Christ for salvation.
